Travel that feels personal,
not packaged

We've been to Vietnam. We know which bay to visit at sunrise before the tourist boats arrive. That's the difference.

Offbeat by Design

Every route is built to avoid crowds at peak spots — and take you to places most operators never include.

Stays that Surprise

No generic chain hotels. We hand-pick boutique stays and nature-rooted properties that feel like part of the trip.

Unhurried Itineraries

No 6-cities-in-7-days. Our pacing gives you space to actually feel the place — not just photograph it.

Founder-Led Curation

Every package is reviewed and refined by us personally. If we wouldn't travel this way, we won't sell it.

Choose your kind of Vietnam

Every journey is personalized and private — designed around experience, not a checklist. Tell us your pace, and we handle the rest.

The best Vietnam moments aren't at the famous spots. They're in the quiet ones nobody told you about.

Built by travelers,
not travel agents

OurTaleOfTravel was born from a deep, personal love for travel — years spent exploring the world and discovering places most itineraries never think to include.

What we found along the way was that most travel felt rushed, overcrowded, and oddly forgettable. Packed buses to the same viewpoints. Hotels that could be anywhere. Days timed to the minute.

So we built something different. Every package we offer is one we'd take ourselves — unhurried, immersive, rooted in nature, and built around the kind of moments you actually remember.

— Abhinav & Team, OurTaleOfTravel

Vietnam Unfolded — Day by Day

A glimpse into how we pace a trip. No rushed mornings. No checkbox tourism.

The practical stuff, handled

The essentials before you go — and yes, we walk you through every one of these personally once you book.

Best Time to Visit

Vietnam spans climates. The north (Hanoi, Sapa, Halong) is clearest Oct–Apr; central Vietnam (Da Nang, Hoi An) is driest Feb–Aug; the south and Phu Quoc are best Nov–Apr. We time your route to the weather.

Currency

Vietnamese Dong (VND). Cards work in cities and hotels; carry some cash for markets, street food and rural stops. US dollars are accepted in a few tourist spots.

Visa

Indian passport holders need an e-visa, applied online before you travel. It's straightforward — rules change, so we confirm the current process and help you apply.

Getting There

You'll fly into Hanoi (HAN), Da Nang (DAD) or Ho Chi Minh (SGN). From India, most routes connect via Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, with some direct options. We advise the smartest routing.

Weather

The north has real seasons — cool winters and cold nights in Sapa. Central Vietnam stays warm and dry most of the year; the south is tropical year-round. Pack layers for the mountains.

Language

Vietnamese is spoken locally, but English is widely understood in hotels, tours and restaurants. A simple “xin chào” (hello) and “cảm ơn” (thank you) go a long way.

SIM & Connectivity

A local eSIM or airport SIM gives cheap, fast 4G nationwide. Wi-Fi is reliable in cities and hotels, patchier in the mountains and out on the cruise boats.

Getting Around

Your trip runs on private drivers and short domestic flights between regions — Halong by cruise boat and Sapa by scenic road or overnight train. You never touch the local traffic unless you want to.

Who Vietnam Is Perfect For

First-time Asia travellers, honeymooners, families and friend groups who want beauty, culture and food without the crowds — at a gentle, unhurried pace.
